Step-by-Step
- Sign contract/agreement
- Once you are signed we will create and work out a PPH game plan as to your targets
- My contact information will be put on your website and I will begin pitching.
- Once I get the calls for the bookings I will call you immediately.
- If you are available and willing to roll, you will send me payment before the booking is completed. If you are booked “day of air” you can send me an email confirming the payment. If you turn down a viable offer on a show and I cannot reschedule, I will bill you a fee of $150.00 for my time spent.
- If you agree to do the PR spot but the show doesn’t air due to breaking news or another event we will not charge you for the booking. You only pay if you air. If you cannot make the booking you will be charged a small fee.
- If your segment is preempted and only airs in certain cities because of new breaking event you will be responsible for 75% of the fee.
- If your segment doesn’t air in the major cities as scheduled you would only be responsible for 50% of the fee.
Why would I use Pay Per Hit versus hiring a full time publicist for PR?
Usually the PR agents/agencies pay by monthly retainers which can cost you in the thousands monthly. I only get paid if I get you a direct booking.
What happens once I get my first hit?
If it’s a great story or you are a great expert we will get picked up by print media your journey will begin. It has been my experience that after your first spot airs you will be called with many diverse media opportunities. I will also reach out to different shows to pitch and send them press releases on your first bookings.
How do I pick which shows I want to do?
This is my expertise and we will go over the pros and cons of each opportunity.
Non-Competing Shows
Usually if you are booked on a morning show for example Today, they would want an Exclusive. We still may be able to book you on Evening shows, such as Nightline.
What happens if I get an opportunity without you, do I still have to pay?
Yes, it is hard for me to track my pitches once they are out. This would be an exclusive agreement with Pay Per Hit PR.
What if the producer or booking call comes directly to me?
You send them to me to handle. Once you sign with me, my contact goes on your website.
What if after our hit another TV show picks up the story and just reruns it? Or just talks about it?
Then you will not be charged, however if you are booked for that story then you would pay under the rate scale.
What if after our hit another TV show picks up the story and wants a quote or interview to add to it?
Then you are obligated to pay me on the Rates scale.
What if print press picks up the story and reruns it ?
Then you don’t have to pay me unless they want a fresh quote to a new story then you would be obligated to pay under the rate scale.
Can I also have a publicist and use your services?
Yes, many book publicists come with the publishing of a book, but they are usually in charge of book store signings rather than show appearances. I would suggest you check with their policy.
Can I also have an Agent/Manager and use your services?
It’s ok to have an agent, yes but I would let them know of your plan to sign with PPH.
How long is the Contract?
The contract will be exclusive for 6 months with extensions. That means if you are called directly for PR after the contract is up, I still expect to be compensated under our agreement for 6 months after expiration. If you get booked to do a show that may take a long time to produce and air, i.e. Dateline or 60 Minutes, this will be included in the extensions.
What if the TV show I have been booked on wants to sign me for a paid job?
If that is your goal, and I help you accomplish that, then I would be compensated. I am a full blown Management LLC with experience working on those deals. I would have you fall under the TurkTV Management contract. I will sign you up, do your contract and the fee is 10% of your gross earnings.
